Step-by-step

• Measure and determine desired hem.

• Cut the hemming tape to length (add ~2 cm extra for margin).

• Fold up the fabric edge for the first time (e.g., 1 cm) and press lightly with an iron to get a sharp edge. Then fold up a second time so that the hem conceals the raw edge — press.

• Place the iron-on hemming tape between the folds so that it lies flush with the inner edge according to the manufacturer's instructions.

• Iron over to secure the hem.

• Let cool before touching the hem for the adhesive to cure.

• Check: gently tug the hem — is it secure? If not, repeat ironing or sew a few small stitches for extra durability.
